Make a Splash with American Red Cross Lessons!
We are thrilled to offer the Learn to Swim aquatics program! To ensure our swimmers receive the gold standard in water safety, our swimming lessons curriculum is based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. The Red Cross curriculum benefits swimmers by providing a program that is nationally respected and internationally recognized for its rigorous safety standards.
All are welcome! Participants do not need to be members of the Fitness and Aquatic Center or New Prague residents to participate in our swim lesson program.
- Lifeguard Certification and Water Safety Instructor classes are offered several times each year.
- Lessons are offered year-round. Registration is available online (here).

| Mark your calendar for upcoming dates Priority registration will open at 7 am Central on Monday morning and close at 4 pm Central on Wednesday afternoon. The priority registration period is for all district residents and those who are open-enrolled into the district. Anyone who registers during this time will automatically be placed on a waitlist until residency and/or enrollment can be confirmed. Registration for all other families will open the following Monday at 7 am and remain open until sessions are full. |

SWIM LESSON PLACEMENT GUIDE
Boys and girls who have passed Level 6 are invited to try Prep Team, which will focus on skills to prepare them for club or school swim teams. Swimmers will be introduced to all four competitive strokes, starts, turns, and technique drills. The focus will be to build endurance and have fun.
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of springboard diving; forward and back approach, lineups, and an introduction to the 5 categories of springboard diving. Students must be able to swim in the deep water comfortably.
These lessons are intended for adults who are looking to learn to swim. We will tailor the lessons to your needs and current level. The private sessions will be 5 weeks/classes long and additional sessions can be taken to continue to build skills and confidence. The class will appear as full with a waiting list, but please use this link to register and then a staff member will reach out to you to confirm dates and times that work with you and the instructor.
